This was a blast to read Camilo. Insightful, witty and thoughtful.
Your comments on criticism reminded me of one of my favourite lines from Don Quixote: “trying to still gossips' tongues is like putting up doors in open fields.”
Hi Camilo, this is your agent calling. Your fans are asking that your pursue a career in standup. And whether you like it or not, your first show is already sold out. You’re live at 9pm tonight, see you then
Great reminders for interacting with strangers. Especially the first. I find that if someone hates you, or the idea of you or someone like you existing, there is little you can do to rationalize or justify your opinion or existence.
I had a professor who once told me to stop falling on every sword. Because here I was perturbed, and the same people who espoused something racist or crazy just continued living their life. So I could express an opinion, but don’t get eaten up by theirs. I try to remember that when I’m interacting online.
It's a tough balance, especially because of some of the experiences you've had (like the one I just read), but yea, I think you know better than most that there are some people you just can't reason with...the only people that can get to them are those who they love the most. It's out of our hands.
I can never get through an article of yours without some gleaming gem stuck in my head. "Not only are you letting someone live rent-free in your head, you are also letting them decorate the damn house."
Your snarkiness is showing! I love how your snarky humor inspires positive thinking and behavior. Thank you for making this place less nasty and rude
Thank you, Rach! It's helpful to know that I use my snarky powers for good :)

Camilo, this turned out so well. As you know, I’m a big fan of your rants and this was no different. Great work.
