Holy bean! Yes! You're hired. I mean is there any reason you can't do this regardless. You had the idea first. I mean I hope you get hired, but even if you don't hear from Starbucks I think you just got the job. Behind you 100%
Aw, thank you, Rick! What a privilege it is to count on your support and wisdom. Please know that a lot of the conversations we've had over the past couple of years have been building blocks to moments like these. Thank you!
loved this! "It was about deciding that the cost of looking like a fool, of “being cringe,” was a lot lower than the cost of doing nothing." You left out the cost of your influencer starter kit and learning how to make canva animations--IMO you should amortize those costs by doing at least a few more videos :)
Ha! I will make more videos. Something I didn't mention in this piece (because my thoughts are still forming) is the fact that even people who love writing words need to recognize that we are going back to the oral tradition by way of video. I think speaking is a lot more natural to humans than writing...so yes, this is my long winded way of saying that I will make more videos.
I love this so much Camilo. Whether you get the job or not (but gosh I hope you do!) the fact that you did something that scared you in 48 hours says so much about your character. You should be proud of yourself. Kudos friend!!
Thank you, Alice. You have been one of my biggest influences over the past year and I'm grateful our paths crossed. You lead by example and it's wonderful having people like you that motivate me to be bolder. Thank you!
“Treating life like a game of chess, and trying to play by only making the perfect moves makes for a neat metaphor, but it’s not accurate at all. Life isn’t played on a 8×8 board, with clear roles and sets of moves. In the real game of life, the board expands and contracts, the roles appear and vanish, and the moves are only constrained by your imagination.”
Huge kudos to you for breaking out of your comfort zone!!
This is one of the best essays. I really loved it. I related to so much of it and appreciate your vulnerability and realness paired with your wonderful sense of humor. I’m manifesting some version of this job for you ✨
I loved reading your thought process navigating perfectionism and intrepidness - doesn’t hurt that I learned a bit about coffee and a new Spanish phrase. Great job with the video, I hope you get the role

: ) You have so much talent Camilo. There's no chance you won't find a sweet spot of serving in the world that you and the rest of us love.

This is essential wisdom Camilo:

Thank you, James! Little by little I'm doing it. I appreciate your continued support; it makes venturing into the unknown easier.
