God bless naps! I always say you need three months to catch up on sleep after working in the corporate world. I love naps. I have a similar lull around 3 or 4 and just indulging in the nap helps me so much. Loved how you framed all this, it is funny when the corporate “wellness” gets in the way of corporate “optics” as you said.
Interesting that the company went out of their way to get MRI-looking nap pods, but there was still a social pressure against using them. We know we need naps but our operating system (calendars/competition) prevents them. Maybe companies need mandatory pre-K nap laws- cut the power and sleep at your desk. Good to hear in the end you got your nap back; feels like an "anti-productivity" hack that actually makes you more productive.
I think there is something deeper to be explored as why this tension exists (we don't do the thing we know is good for us), but this was my attempt at something smaller.
Preaching to the choir Camilo. Lots of travel makes learning to nap a necessity. I really like the "manage your energy, not your time" advice. Hadn't heard that one before.

Thank you cara! Honestly, I've never looked at sleep the same since. Truly transformational book.

Thank you, Rick. Coming from a seasoned traveler like you, I'll take that validation!
