Great post. I'm feeling inspired by it! It's always so interesting to hear people's journey, it adds such a richness to the work. (I've always loved commentary albums for that reason)

And what a great line: “craft is responsible for everything beautiful in the world.”

Excited to be following your journey in this!

The breakdown of the inverted pedal point and the numerology is so cool. Thanks for getting me hooked on Cole. I'm a few episodes into the season on Because the Internet, and his dissection

deepens my love for the album.

And nice bars at the end :-)

Great post. I admire people who can nerd out to such a level and make work out of passion.

"craft is responsible for everything beautiful in the world." <-- this feels like the perfect distillation of everything I've been trying to circle around since starting WOP. Thanks for highlighting this.

I hope we're both making beautiful things in the world for years to come.

Nice piece, Camilo. As always, very evocative and thought-provoking. I don’t know Cole, and after reading you I sure will check him out. Interesting perspective that of dissecting music to get to a deeper understanding of its meaning and messages. And I love KL, I think we talked about this already. I think he’s one of the very few geniuses of today’s music. But I also think he would have been regarded as a genius even in a different music era, where competition (so to speak) was much higher and fiercer than today. He’s got the literary posture of a Dylan, the musical originality of a Zappa, and the storytelling capacity of a Prince. Great writing, amico mio. :)
