But also, "no one asked me to be their model citizen" was an unexpected arrow that went straight into my heart. I had a half-second window the moment I read that where I felt the weight of that falsely assumed responsibility, that I also apparently carry, leave my shoulders. I suspect I'll spend most of 2024 attempting to recapture and live into this glimpse you just provided with your honest self-observation.
