Camilo - such a beautiful and raw post. “They” say there are no “free lunches” in the world. Gratitude is one of them.
I’m sorry to hear about your depression. Having passed in and out of depression in the past, someone recommended Thomas Moore’s book Care of The Soul to me. In it he discusses the interior work that is happening when we are depressed and the positives that come from that. He writes so beautifully-and I came away relating to my depression more than being my depression, which helped me tremendously to move forward.
I’m grateful for you Camilo and the indelible contribution you are to others. 🙏
Beautiful said as always, James! You have a way to make others feel seen and sharing your wisdom that is pretty powerful. Thank you for constant support!
Camilo, one more perspective if you’re up for it. We often go though life comparing our insides to others’ outsides.
When I do this I often find it’s a recipe to feel badly about myself. The lens through which I try and see life, and its hard at times, is one that we’re all struggling, finding our way though, and at the same time, we’re all shining, no matter what, no matter how we are feeling. And our shine rubs off on others.
I am clinically depressed and have too found gratitude. I live life with kindness. When I’m on hold on the phone after going through a stupid, maddening robot, I remind myself that the person answering the phone is there to address my questions. Most find my kindness refreshing when speaking to a call center.
That little break to reset your frame of mind is so important, Nohea! Not everyone can do that, so you should be proud of this. Thanks for spreading kindness in this world!
Thank you for your authenticity and your wisdom.
Thank you for your support and being there for me, my friend!
Always, you've been there for me as well!
This is a wonderful piece of writing, my friend. Glad to hear things are trending up.
Thank you, sir! Looking forward to catching up soon!
…grateful for you!…
Thank you, CansaFis! You are a truly singular human!
