“I want to show my world, a sliver of my life, in a way that will create awe.”

Ahh such an amazing version of your own AWA! I love the colors in your video and the simplicity of this trend. Keep sharing your slivers, please!

WHAT THE VIDEO IS AMAZING!!

I was already coming down to comment when I realized I hadn’t clicked on the video, and oh my gosh I’m so happy I didn’t miss it!! Loved your exploration of this aesthic and the exposure to a new rabbit hole I can explore but mostly oh my gosh what a fun video!! It’s amazing because you really walked the walk after talking about the appreciation of creation online. I used to be very anti social media (still am really) but once I started creating, I grew an appreciation and respect for anyone willing to put together something and publish it. It’s pretty awesome and amazing to see what people can do now with the tools provided via Tik Tok and IG. Accidentally Wes Anderson is now my favorite version of this. Great essay and video!!

I’m loving this trend you’re sharing, and your insight of it being magical without CGI. I was eagerly waiting for your AWA video the whole time I was reading! And I’m so glad you made one! It’s so fun, all the color and magic made me smile 😊 I’d loved your still shot on glass!

Also, really resonating with this: “imitation is not mediocrity, but rather an essential kindle for the flame.” HERE for it! It’s a great way to get out of a creative block too!!!

Camilo! Love your AWA little video. And your face expression. So perfect! Thank you for sharing this, and your powerful message about creating. It is, indeed, something to push as much as possible. "Dare to create. Even if it’s just a meme, a haiku, or a 15 second reel. Recognize the value of manifesting ideas from your mind onto the physical realm not only for you, but for others as well. The world needs makers." -- Bravo :)

I like this view Camilo! The act of sharing, even if imitating is important. The next step of creating something new can be right around the corner.

This was such a delightful read AND video, Camilo.

“The world needs makers.”

This. Yes.

So good Camilo! Thank you for sharing your own creativity - we're all better for it.

"Think about all the reasons people don’t create today: Incessant consumption that numbs our body, estrangement from our instincts, crippling fear that silences our soul." Very, very well said.

And thank you again for including my essay!

What a delightful rabbit hole you’ve jumped into! You nailed it -- the colors, lighting, music, and style. That moment when you turn to look at the camera is iconic.

Excellent essay Camilo. Such a cool perspective to view social media as creative expression, even if its mimetic.

This sentence stopped me in my tracks: "Imitation is not mediocrity, but rather an essential kindle for the flame of creative expression"

Great work! Really enjoyed this.

Darn it, Camilo! Your AWA won’t play on my iPad as I’m sitting outside at 9pm in Ambleside in the Lake District with the fire pit going. First, I can’t wait to see your take on AWA, having consumed all the other ones you shared. I particularly liked the Amalfi one - very cool. Second, your essay is a call to create, and it’s a really inspirational call because you show us in what you’ve curated (darn it, your video won’t play still!) that creativity can really touch your heart.

Finally... cheers for the shout out! I’m very fond of David’s butt cheeks, sculpted by Michelangelo - or, as Silvio calls him, the Maestro. I wonder if there’s a Michelangelo AWA in your extensive reels archive???
